The Friedman Quality of Life Scale has 12 items that assess a person's subjective experience of the quality of life. The items assess a person's ability to adjust to changes, enjoy themselves, handle problems that come up, feel free, accept and adapt to life etc. The Friedman Quality of Life Scale is easy to administer, score and interpret and can easily be used to track changes over time.

Reliability data

The Friedman Quality of Life Scale has a cronbach alpha reliability score of .85. The test-retest reliability is .84 at 1 week, .81 at 2 weeks, .69 at 3 weeks and .55 at 4 weeks in a clinical population.

Validity data

The Friedman Quality of Life Scale correlates .69 in a college sample, .55 in a clinical sample and .49 in a large sample of California employees with the Friedman Well-Being Scale. The Friedman Quality of Life Scale also correlates substantially in the expected direction with over 100 other clinical scales.
